Martec's technology applications

Passpulse applications

Martec UWB RFID tags are passive; however, they have active communications with the reader. This performance allows increasing operational ranges in comparison to the traditional passive RFID tags. The Passpulse tags particularly suitable in harsh environment and where long reading ranges are needed.

The traditional passive RFID tags are used mainly in logistics, supply chain for asset tracking and tend to be cheap (less than 50 cents). Active UHF RFID tags are expensive ($5 to $100). Martec is developing the Passpulse tag which has acceptable price ($2 to $20). However, the actives tags are reused many times and the cost per use can be very low. For example, a $20 tag used 1000 times on containers of expensive equipment has a cost per use of just 2 cents.

Passpulse applications include:

Asset tracking/Management/Retail

Access Control

Vehicle Parking Monitoring/Access and Control

Product Tracking through Manufacturing and Assembly

Medical applications - Equipment/Personnel Tracking in Hospitals

People tracking

Animal tracking

Real-time inventory in warehouses

Person Identification
